To Whom It May Concern:
It is with immense pleasure that I recommend Asset Preservers, Inc. for the services they provide in the
Medicaid Application process.
One year ago, my family and I were overwhelmed with questions and concerns about the future care for
my 93-year-old mother. She was living alone and starting to show signs of cognitive decline. We
contacted Steve Averill and met with him to evaluate our financial status, as well as learn more about
what we needed to do to find a suitable place for my mother. Steve and his daughter Kristi were truly
knowledgeable about the entire process of applying to facilities, contacting the people that could help
with medical questions, filling out the lengthy Medicaid application, and much more.
Although we did not know what this past year would bring, we began the process of filling out the
necessary paperwork and collecting all the information needed for that day in the future when we
would be applying for Medicaid.
Well, shortly after we began working with Steve and Kristi, my mother had a terrible fall and suffered
many injuries. Her short stay in the hospital was followed by a six-week Rehab stay in a facility. Because
we already had begun the process of completing the Medicaid application, my mother was able to move
into the facility immediately after her rehab was complete. I know this would have been much more
difficult if we had not already started to process.
Steve was always available to answer my many questions. He is so good at explaining step-by-step what
we needed to do to complete our Medicaid application, as well as how to handle all my mother’s
financial assets. I honestly do not know how my family and I would have been able to resolve our
questions without the help of Asset Preservers. It was so reassuring to know that we could call someone
to make sure we did the best that we could, while ensuring that my mother is receiving the best of care.
Without reservation, I would highly recommend Asset Preservers to anyone who is beginning the
process of applying for Medicaid for themselves or a loved one.
Sincerely,
Debbie B.

To Whom it May Concern,
I wish to give Asset Preservers and Steven Averill and his entire team my family’s highest endorsement. When my family first contacted Mr. Averill we were simply put, lost in a swamp of complicated health rules and qualifications; in particular the Medicaid qualification for our aging mother who had recently been admitted to the hospital.
Upon release from the hospital my mother spent some time in recovery, but as the time ticked forward it was evident we might not have any answers for her longer term needs. A friend of our family gave us Steve’s contact information and he explained to us what the one time fee would be and what he and his team would try and accomplish with that fee. It was worth every single cent. He directed us first to gather up the documents his team would need to file a Medicaid request for my mother. Up to contacting him we had been told she would not qualify for Medicaid because she owned a small home with a small amount of assets. He worked through the realities with us and answered all our questions, no matter how many times he had to answer the same question. He was always patient and kind and honest with us throughout the process and did get my mother qualified for Medicaid.
My mother did end up in a nursing home for a few months and was covered by Medicaid - she has since been assessed to live in Assisted Living and is doing so on private funds. We know, however, should her condition change - we can count on Steve and his crew to walk us through the next stage of the process.
Handing over this side of the equation to Steve allowed my family to do what we most needed to do for my mother in her greatest time of need - just simply be there for her. The hours, days, weeks, and months of time he saved processing our paperwork and then shepherding the Medicaid process took a tremendous burden off our entire family and allowed us, and still allows us to focus on these precious moments we still have to share with our loved one.
Steve Averill and the entire team of Asset Preservers are without question - THE BEST!
Sincerely,
Sean C.

Hi Steve,
We just want to say thank you for everything that you did in helping us with getting Mike’s dad situated and the Medicaid process. We really don’t know how we would have been able to do it without you. We really would have been lost and have no idea how or where to begin. Plus with some of the situations and questions that came up and having you to turn really took some stress off of us. We will undoubtedly recommend you and your service to anyone who finds themselves in the position that we were in. It made a very hard situation just a little bit easier to handle.

To Whom It May Concern:
I recommend Steven Averill for his services during the complicated and emotionally taxing time
when our loved ones were entering Assisted Living and Nursing Home.
I contacted Mr. Averill in 2017 to prepare my mother and aunt’s finances for the next phase of their
lives. With an attorney, Mr. Averill assisted with the creation of the trusts, wills, powers of attorney,
living wills and pre-planning of funerals, in preparation of moving to assisted living.
When it was time to move my mother and aunt to nursing home care in 2018, Mr. Averill
coordinated the preservation of their assets and the voluminous paperwork required for the
application for Medicaid. The Medicaid applications were approved and the recertifications were
also recently approved in 2020.
Mr. Averill has provided great service, always with a pleasant demeanor, and I would (and have)
recommended his services to friends in need.
Sincerely,
Geoffrey A. M.
